Allowances
At its meeting in April 2022, Council agreed to adopt the scheme of allowances proposed by the Borough’s remuneration panel. As a result, from the election in May 2023, Cllrs will receive allowances of 5% of the level which applies to Borough Councillors – the Chair receiving an additional 5%. As of April 2022 this equates to £317pa, which is taxable – they may elect not to take this allowance. This only applies to elected Cllrs – those co-opted are not eligible.
