Council has only a small amount of land so it has responsibility for relatively few trees.
We will add details of those in due course.
Tree Preservation Orders
As part of the Planning process, the Borough Council can place Preservation Orders [TPOs] on trees, or groups of trees, in the area. These make work on them without permission unlawful, and may require replacement of such trees in the event that they fall.
The most recent such TPO was granted in July 2023 – Tree Preservation Order 649
Older TPOs can be viewed on the Borough website: Tree preservation orders; Borough Council
Trees within a Conservation Area are also protected. For more information, please visit the Borough Council website: Trees in a Conservation Area
